State Enforcement & Investigative Division for Special Education Programs

The State Enforcement and Investigative Division (SEID) for Special Education Programs is a state-level monitoring and enforcement office. The Interim Executive Director is Bernadette Bullock, Esq.  The SEID implements and enforces federal and local regulations and policies. Another important role of the SEID is to promote mediation and dispute resolution activities among parents, educators, and students. SEID also ensures that parents of a child receiving special education services have opportunities for resolving disputes with the school.

The SEID offices are in the historic Van Ness Elementary School, located at 1150 5th Street, Washington, DC 20003.  The offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, except for official District of Columbia holidays.
