Program Highlights:  After School Study Hall cosponsored by T. Roosevelt Widening Horizons’ Program, Sister 2 Sister Mentoring Program with Spellman College Bonner Scholars, Young Men’s Reading Club, Student Workshop sponsored by Mark Baugh of NASA

 

Summer Institute Highlights: Business and Financial Literacy courtesy of Junior Achievement and NFTE; program featured a Hip Hop Week where students were exposed to the Hip Hop industry from all different facets including music, fashion, spoken word, and drama; students participated in field trips including a Washington Nationals baseball game, two trips to the movies, and a culminating trip to Colonial Williamsburg/Busch Gardens trip; students also read three books during their six week experience including Their Eyes Were Watching God; Rich Dad, Poor Dad For Teens; and Romeo and Juliet

 

Field Trips:  Princeton University College Tour, Washington Wizards game, NASA tour, Ford’s Theatre Presents “A Christmas Carol,” Georgetown University College Tour, Brother 2 Brother Conference sponsored by Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at Howard University, Blacks In Wax Museum Tour, Hemlock Overlook Park Team Development Course
